2nd KFLDT 2012 Results

First of all, thank you everyone for attending the 2nd KFLDT. We hope you enjoyed our competition and we hope to see some of you again in our 3rd KFLDT! The KFL EurOpen Selection Panel will begin selections for the EurOpen National Team very soon. We will contact all participants for KFLDT 2011 and 2012 once the process begins, with details. It will be a tough, yet rewarding selection process. We hope many try out for the national team, as it will be a great opportunity.

Registration Extension

Luckily, the KFLDT Org Com was able to borrow a larger part of our venue. Therefore, we will be able to accept more teams that the original team cap. Now, we will switch to a first come first serve basis. Any team is free to register!

We will be pushing our registration deadline back to July 11. If we meet our team cap, we will post on our website. However, for now, any team is open to register.

Invitation to KFLDT 2012

Dear Korean Debating Community,

The Korean Forensics League Student Liaisons are pleased to announce the opening of the Korea Forensics League Debate Tournament 2012 (KFLDT 2012). The first tournament to be hosted by and run by the KFL Student Liaisons, KFLDT was launched in 2011 to foster a healthy debating community within Korea that center on student-led initiatives catered for student-based demands. Targeting middle school students throughout Korea, KFLDT seeks to provide middle school students with an opportunity to engage in an intellectual discourse with their peers and high school students with a chance to take a more proactive role in contributing to the debating community they are part of.

This year, KFL Debate Tournament 2012 will be held at Hanyang Ueniversity (한양대학교) on July 14th~15th, 2012. The format of the tournament will be 3 vs 3 Parliamentary. Teams may consist of students from different institutions. There will be 4 power-matched preliminary rounds, followed by single elimination rounds where the top 8 teams will compete for the tournament plaque. Furthermore, the award-recipients of KFLDT will have their performances taken into account in the upcoming ESDC (European Schools Debating Championship) selection process.
